Maybe we should consider Germany as a model to solve our manufacturing decline, with the Economist reporting A machine running smoothly

Good news in the US

If you were looking for some good news today then the US is the place to be with a raft of good news.

The Altantic reported last week The Economic Recovery Gained Momentum in December along with the New York Times which commented  U.S. Economy Grew at 3.2% Rate in the 4th Quarter and U.S. Consumer Spending Rose in December.

Yesterday,  Dow and S.& P. Close at Highest Levels Since 2008

I think the best news is that consumer confidence is up in the US. CEO’s are also more confident, read here

An interesting position on the US economy was The Future of the Middle Class, a must read if your interested in the big picture.

News elsewhere was less hopeful with China Is Poised to Raise Rates Again, Bankers Say and PMI data raise fears on global inflation

The UK is on hard times with a The lean year

If you are in the coal industry, you might find Burning ambitions a good read.

Finally, Brazil is the place to go as a senior executive if your sole motivation is money. Pay rates are the best as reported in Top whack.
